Time Travel VR Tour project is a virtual reality experience that allows customers to travel back in time to different historical events and locations.

For now, we interpret the art and architectural structures from Byzantine and Ottoman civilizations in the Istanbul geography with an objective perspective and a contemporary understanding of sciences. This is forming the base of our virtual environment. We are sharing this virtual experience as a part of our guided city tours through the city.

This time we’re not only listening to the information about an era, but we’re trying to look at it as a witness and we’re opening our minds to the discovery of a whole new story.

Time Travel VR Tour is a completely new experience, because the VR moments locate the visitors at the center of a 360° historic scene. With VR glasses you can see and hear the ancient worlds and choose where to look at, what to discover.

In addition to any VR experience, Time Travel VR presents this experience at the same spot so that your urban tour has a whole new layer.

Guided city tours are not only for short time visitors, but for everyone including Istanbulites!

How much do you know about your city? Even though you know a lot about history, Time Travel VR Tour provides a completely new perception of historic places. Now you can compare old and new, past and today with your own eyes and ears.

Time Travel VR Tour Istanbul has 5 stops and 7 VR scenes in total. Topkapı Palace and Sultanahmet have two separate scenes which our guests can experience.

Istanbul is a city with multiple historic layers. In some spots there are stories to tell from the Ottoman Period and Byzantine times with centuries apart.

You can jump into a 360° historic scene, find yourself in a scene from the 4th or 16th century and come back to today’s Istanbul.

In general, everyone above the age 8. If you can join a guided city tour, you can join us.

Normally we are not expecting motion sickness, since the time our guests can move freely and use the VR glasses in divided periods instead of sitting in a closed room and watching the video for a long time.

There is only an exception regarding photosensitive epilepsy. VR experience might be a trigger for seizures. We are sorry for this unfortunate possibility.

You can use our VR glasses with your regular glasses on and feel comfortable knowing our VR glasses are sterilised before each tour.

Customers will wear a VR headset and headphones, and will be guided by a member of our team through the virtual reality experience. They will be able to see, hear, and interact with the events and locations as if they are really there.

Time Travel VR Tour project is suitable for most people with disabilities. However, customers with certain disabilities may need additional assistance. Please contact us to discuss your specific needs.

 The Time Travel VR Tour project offers the opportunity to visit various historical sites in Istanbul. For example, you can visit sites from the Byzantine and Ottoman Empire periods.

There is no special dress code for the Time Travel VR Tour project, however, comfortable and practical clothing is recommended.

A VR headset and headphones are required for the Time Travel VR Tour project. This equipment can be provided by our project office, but customers are also allowed to bring their own headphones.

Most glasses can simply be carried on underneath the VR headset. However, very large frames can be problematic. Varifocals are problematic, too. If you wear varifocals, you should exchange them for “normal” glasses with only one strength for the duration of your visit.

Special training is not required for the Time Travel VR Tour project. Our project team will explain to customers how to use the VR headsets and what events will take place during the journey to the past.

The Time Travel VR Tour project is currently available in English, Turkish and Russian. If your language is not one of these, please contact us. We have tour guide in every language.

To be absolutely safe, we clean and disinfect our VR headsets and headphone after each use with an approved disinfectant. Also we use VR headset and headphone mask.
